Winterfat - Krascheninnikovia lanata Zone 3-8

With foliage that resembles lavender, this shrub is just an average looking native plant…until the fall.

White, fluffy seeds take over the top third of the plant and give it its characteristic look; which will last into the winter. Winterfat can reach 4' tall and attracts birds, as well as wildlife. Tolerates a wide variety of soils and is drought resistant. Plant in full sun and water regularly until established. Be careful to not overwater.
