Plant of the Week: Ruby Slippers

Ruby Slippers Oakleaf Hydrangea Hydrangea Quercifolia 'Ruby Slippers' Zone 5-9

White blooms appear in summer that quickly fade to a beautiful, deep pink. Deep green foliage resembles an oak leaf that fades into nice fall colors. Compact shrub that can fill in those empty spots under tree canopies.

Plant in part to filtered sun for best growth. Water regularly and plant in well-drained soil. A fast grower that can quickly reach 3.5' tall and 5' wide. Blooms on old wood so if pruning is desired do so immediately after blooms are spent.
