Q: My rose bush looks messy with dry leaves that haven't fallen off yet. Is it ok to pull the leaves off for a cleaner look?

A: By pulling off the leaves before they are ready to come off, the plant becomes susceptible to injury and disease. The leaves can be cut near the cane to help the bush look better if a cleaner look is a must.
