Transformation Tuesday: Nature-Inspired Front Yard Makeover

This cozy cabin's front yard started as a blank canvas—just bare ground with endless potential. Today, it's been completely transformed into a welcoming, functional, and beautiful outdoor space.

We began by laying a moss rock border and crafting a warm, natural flagstone pathway to guide you to the front steps. To bring the space to life, we planted a thoughtful mix of Potentilla, Karl Foerster grass, Spirea, Pampas Grass, Montgomery Blue Spruce, Moonshine Yarrow, Catmint, Gaillardia, and Lavender. Each plant was chosen for its color, texture, and ability to thrive in the landscape.

Because of persistent issues with moles, we installed a garden wire mesh beneath the flagstone and about 18 inches below the flower beds to protect the roots and structure from being disturbed.

To finish it off, we added Pueblo rose gravel, a dry riverbed feature, and a subtle water feature beneath the living room window—bringing movement and serenity into the space.

What was once just dirt and ideas is now a vibrant, peaceful retreat that blends seamlessly into the natural surroundings.
